The Documentary

Kiran Sitara Kahani

Meet Sana, a 12-year-old girl, who is changing the future of her Karachi neighbourhood- one doorbell at a time!

We had the pleasure of crafting our first mixed-media project, animation & documentary, for the wonderful folks at Kiran Sitara. It’s truly an honour to bring Sana’s story to light, and to work with a client that is excited to tell real stories with a unique, outside-the-box approach!

Kiran Sitara, IRD’s flagship youth engagement program trained 32,500 school girls in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad and Sukkur in leadership, communications skills, self awareness, healthy living, and community screening. Kiran Sitaras have screened over 1.3 million individuals for TB symptoms in their immediate neighborhood during 2017, as well as infants for incomplete immunizations.

The Kiran Sitara program is being expanded to Quetta, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Badin and Skardu by the end of 2018 to cover 100,000 school girls each year.
