The Tampere Film Festival is considered to be one of the top 3 short film festivals in the world. Located in Finland, it is one of the only A-rated festivals that has championed Pakistani Auteur Cinema from it’s beginning, awarding Mushtaq Gazdar the Grand Prix in 1978! Stray Dogs will be playing in international competition from March 4th-8th, 2020. We wish that the Finnish audience welcome the film with open arms. Producer, Mina Husain will be in attendance.

After Finland, the film is headed to the Oscar-qualifying REGARD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in Canada. Considered to be is one of the most important short film festivals in North America, we are excited to have our North American premiere at such an incredible festival. Stray Dogs Come Out at Night will be playing from March 11th-15th.

Next, the film is headed to BFI FLARE FILM FESTIVAL from March 18th-29th in London. BFI Flare is the biggest LGBTQ+ film festival in Europe. Organised and run by the British Film Institute, all BFI Flare screenings take place in the BFI Southbank. Considered to be one of the most prestigious screening venues in the UK, we are thrilled to make our UK Premiere with BFI. Once more, Producer Mina Husain will be representing the film.

Finally, the film will end March with the FRIBOURG FILM FESTIVAL in Switzerland. The Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) is one of the European pioneers in discovering African, Latin American and Asian cinematographies. Oscar-winner Bong Joon Ho and Atom Egoyan are part of the FIFF family. Director, Hamza Bangash, will be traveling to Switzerland to attend the screening.

The film has also picked up representation with Radiator IP sales, headed by Brussels-based agent Ben Bekke Fromdevellaj. Radiator is known for representing Venice and Sundance winning shorts, and team CityLights is very excited to be a part of the Radiator family.

Congratulations to the wonderful cast & crew.  Stray Dogs Come Out at Night is going from France -> Finland -> Canada -> London -> Switzerland.

Soon it will touch base in Karachi, Pakistan – where it all began. A Pakistan premiere is planned for mid-June.
