Zarrar Kahn is a Canadian-Pakistani writer, director and producer whose debut film In Flames was Pakistan’s Entry for the 2024 Academy Awards, a New York Times Critic’s Pick, and premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in Director’s Fortnight, where it was nominated for the Camera d’Or.
Kahn was awarded the International Newcomer Award at the Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival, as well as Best Picture at Red Sea Film Festival. He is the recipient of the ReelWorld Film Festival Trailblazer Award 2024. An alumnus of the TIFF Talent Lab, Busan Film Academy, Locarno Filmmaker Academy, and the Canadian Film Centre’s Norman Jewison Director’s Lab program.

Anam Abbas is a Pakistani/Canadian filmmaker and owner of Other Memory Media.
She is the Producer and DOP of the feature documentary “Showgirls of Pakistan”, which premiered in competition at IDFA 2020 and was released globally by VICE.
Most recently she produced the Telefilm Talents to Watch and Canada Council of the Arts supported “In Flames”, Directed by Zarrar Kahn, which had its World Premiere at Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, won the Golden Yusr for Best Picture at the Red Sea FF, the International Newcomer Award at Mannheim-Heidelberg FF, John Dunning Best Debut Feature Award at the Canadian Screen Awards and was Pakistan’s Entry for Best International Picture for the 2024 Academy Awards.
Anam is also one of the founding members of the Documentary Association of Pakistan (DAP), through which she co-programs the Chalta Phirta Film Festival in Pakistan and has founded and mentored two documentary labs in Pakistan- Doc Balochistan and Doc Gilgit. She has served as a jury member for Berlinale Talents Doc Station and Sheffield Meet Market. She is the recipient of the 2023 CMPA Emerging Producer’s Award.
Mohammad Ali Hashmi is an emerging screenwriter, director and actor. His body of work includes Dia (2018), Stray Dogs Come Out at Night (2020) and his upcoming directorial debut, An Act Of Lamentation (2025). A multi-hyphenate talent, Hashmi’s screenwriting feature debut, Alia & Alessandro, is an immigration comedy which is currently in pre-production with a Canadian producer.
Hashmi is represented by Amanda Rosenthal Talent for his work as a performer. Recent credits include Brothers (Toronto International Film Festival 2022), and a vast commercial portfolio with selected highlights including work for Google, Smirnoff and TD Canada.
